UFC 174 Preliminary Fight Odds

June 13, 2014

The UFC is in Vancouver British Columbia for UFC 174 where Demetrious Johnson takes on Ali Bagautinov in a UFC flyweight title fight but if you look a lot further down the card, the UFC has put together a decent but not great preliminary lineup. Here is a quick look at the preliminary match ups for UFC 174.

Daniel Sarafian vs. Kiichi Kunimoto
Kiichi Kunimoto -450
Daniel Sarafian +325
In the final fight before we go to the PPV, Ultimate Fighter Brazil contestant Daniel Sarafian takes on Japanese fighter Kiichi Kunimoto in a welterweight tilt. Sarafian is a huge favorite despite being just 1-2 in the UFC. Those fights were at middleweight so it will be interesting to see how he fairs at a more comfortable weight.

Valerie Letourneau vs. Elizabeth Phillips
Valerie Letourneau -120
Elizabeth Phillips -110
Montreal native Valerie Letourneau takes on Elizabeth Philips in a women’s bantamweight fight. Neither fighter was supposed to be on this card but they are filling in for the original ladies fight between Germaine de Randamie and Milana Dudieva. The odds are close but Philips has won 4 straight since dropping her professional debut. This is her promotional debut and will look to impress. Letourneau has some UFC experience albeit during her time on the Ultimate Fighter.

Yves Jabouin vs. Mike Easton
Yves Jabouin +170
Mike Easton -210
In a bantamweight fight, a couple of veterans get it on when Yves Jabouin takes on Mike Easton. Neither fighter has the chops to be a world champion but both can put on a show. Easton is a solid -210 favorite here but he’s dropped his last three. Can Jabouin beat expectations, we won’t know until Saturday but I’d lean on him to push Easton to the limit and perhaps an upset win.

Kajan Johnson vs. Tae Hyun Bang
Tae Hyun Bang +145
Kajan Johnson -175
Kajan Johnson has rabid fans; the Ultimate Fighter alum suffered a KO loss to teammate Chad Laprise in the semis. His fans took to twitter to goad the UFC into giving him a fight. He’s coming into the fight against Bang as a solid -175 favorite. How much of that line is set to lure in his fervent fan base or do they really think Johnson has enough to defeat the bigger, stronger Bang.

Roland Delorme vs. Michinori Tanaka
Roland Delorme -105
Michinori Tanaka -125
The undefeated Michinori Tanaka makes his UFC debut against Roland Delorme. Delorme looks to bounce back from his close decision loss to Alex Caceres. Both these fighters are excellent on the ground. Their standup skills are a toss up. Whoever takes control on the ground will win this fight.

Jason Saggo vs. Josh Shockley
Josh Shockley -105
Jason Saggo -125
Josh Shockley and Jason Saggo are both making their promotion debuts. Shockley is 11-2 and Saggo is 9-1. Shockley has stopped 8 of his 11 opponents and Saggo has finished all of his victories. Don’t expect this fight to see the final buzzer.
