The UFC presents UFC Fight Night 43 from Auckland New Zealand live exclusively on fight pass. We’ve already covered the main card, here’s a look at the preliminaries.
Preliminary card (UFC Fight Pass)
Jake Matthews +105
Dashon Johnson -135
Dashon Johnson is a perfect 9-0 in his career. He takes on Ultimate Fighter Nations alumni Jake Mathews. Mathews was one of the rare competitors to compete on TUF but not get the call to compete on the finale card. He won a local fight in Australia to earn this fight at UFC Fight Night 43, I expect Johnson to remain perfect with a win over Matthews.
Richie Vaculik -160
Roldan Sangcha-an +130
A couple of Flyweights do battle here. Vaculik is an Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes veteran. He lost his official UFC debut to Justin Scoggins but he should have a better showing against Roldan Sangcha-an. Roldan Sangcha-an is the dog here but don’t be surprised if there is an upset in this fight.
Chris Indich -105
Vik Grujic -125
A couple of Ultimate Fighter teammates are squaring off here. Look for Grujic to come hard early but if Indich can defend the early going, he should be able to hold off his Nations teammate to pick up a victory in New Zealand.
Neil Magny -280
Rodrigo Goiana de Lima +220
Magny is fighting soon after his last fight but that shouldn’t be a problem against the Brazilian. We don’t expect Goiana de Lima to pose much of a threat to Magny here.
Dan Hooker -135
Ian Entwistle +105
Entwistle is a submission expert. 75% of his wins are via submission. His opponent Dan Hooker is versatile, on the feet and on the ground but his ground game isn’t that of Entwistle so if this fight goes to the mat, look fro Entwistle to earn a victory.
Gian Villante -305
Sean O’Connell +235
Villante needs a win after going 1-2 in his UFC career so far. He has KO power and against Sean O’Connell, he should be able to pick up a win.
